Kmart Pharmacists Offer One-Day, Free Blood Pressure Screenings and Healthy
                             Heart Information

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill., Feb. 2, 2007  Heart disease
is the number one killer of Americans, and research suggests that
uncontrolled high blood pressure and obesity are contributing factors to
the development of the disease. To help create more awareness of heart
disease and its risk factors, during American Heart Month Kmart is hosting
an in-store Healthy Heart Event at the more than 1,100 Kmart Pharmacies
nationwide.
    An estimated 65 million Americans have high blood pressure and nearly
one third of them aren't even aware they have it.
    "There are important risk factors for heart disease, such as elevated
blood pressure, that can be managed before they become life-threatening,"
said Mark Doerr, RPh, vice president, Kmart Pharmacy. "We hope the Kmart
Healthy Heart Events will help our customers learn about what they can do
to stay heart-healthy and lower the risk of developing heart disease."
    On Wednesday, February 21, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Kmart Pharmacists
will offer free blood pressure screenings and provide advice and
information to help customers better understand heart health and how to
reduce the risks associated with high blood pressure and heart disease.
    No appointments are necessary and all walk-ins are welcome. Customers
